During the Q&A, one of them asked me how I come up with the programs I create. The short answer is “Because I need them.”

Case in point: Ready-Set-Go, A Jump Start to Healthy Eating.

About fifteen months ago, I completed chemotherapy for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. As grateful as I was to receive good medical care, this grueling treatment took away my ability to eat right and turned me into a bottomless pit of hunger. And not for healthy foods, either. Nope! I was famished for foods I hadn’t eaten in years, like gloppy cheeseburgers, everything bagels with everything on them, and anything that contained lots & lots of sugar. Had the idea of eating straight from a bag of sugar occurred to me, I believe I would have. It was that bad.

Simply knowing what to eat wasn’t enough. How many times have you said “I know what to eat, I just don’t do it!” I had to dive into a program where I would take action. And quickly. So I experimented with different detox-type programs that encourage cold-turkey breaks from things like sugar. I had some success, but I felt miserable. Not unlike some of my clients who came to me after doing juice cleanses and fasts. Sure they lost weight, but they were really cranky. And they had no plan for maintaining that weight loss, so they gained it all back. Just like me. Clearly, it was time for something different.

So I combined what I liked from other programs with what worked for me. The end result is Ready-Set-Go! I call it a Jump Start To Healthy Eating because that’s what it really is. With it, I have taken my eating to a much higher level of good, even better than before I got sick. And I’m not the only success story.

Fred was dragged kicking & screaming into the program by his loving wife who had been concerned about his cholesterol and glucose readings for years. (Full disclosure: I’m the loving wife, Fred is my kicking and screaming husband).

Imagine his surprise and my delight when he became a Ready-Set-Go super star! He lost about 12 pounds during the program, which was thrilling. Even better: his blood pressure improved, his glucose dropped from a pre-diabetic 111 to 94 and his total cholesterol plummeted from 257 to 164. All of which made him (finally!) believe in the power of eating right. He’s kept right on following the program, and enjoying the new him (we both are).

Other rockstar Ready-Set-Goers have also had great results:

Brian kicked his daily diet soda addiction (his words) and continues to lose weight, 34 pounds at last count!

Betty identified that wheat triggers allergic reactions (including itchy skin rashes). Kicking wheat to the curb alleviated that problem and also helped her lose weight.

Laurie told me “It was really the right program at the right time and I have not gone back to my old eating habits since. I have largely left sugar and meat behind and have drastically limited my intake of wheat, dairy and alcohol. I did this without an original intention to do so…but out of the realization that when I do eat these things, I can feel their less than positive effect on my body and mind. For me, your program combined with my yoga practice to bring me to an entirely new level of mental/emotional clarity and physical health.”

The list goes on with participants changing their lives by changing what they eat. This is incredible to me, because it wasn’t my original intent. I just wanted to feel and look better. Helping so many others feel and look better has been an amazing side benefit.

So that’s my plug for Ready-Set-Go. I rarely make my blog postings into sales pitches, but we have another session starting April 15th, and it’s just too good to miss. So many people are reaching their goals, because they realize what they do matters when it comes to their health. Ready-Set-Go makes it easy to get there.
