I don’t know about you, but every summer my brain screams “School’s out!” And I haven’t been in school for an awfully long time. There’s just something about summer that gives us permission to be a little lazy, take a little trip and try some new activities.
I love this graphic from Full Cup, Thirsty Spirit entitled “50 Ways To Take A Break”. I’m printing it out and using it as a checklist for ways to recharge and rejuvenate. Which ways speak to you?
As you read this, I’m flying home from Italy, which I guess we’d consider a really big break. Every summer, my husband & I splurge on a trip and I use that time to really unplug and unwind. Hopefully this year I was able to get him to check his email less; but probably not. No matter, he manages to recharge too. Since I wrote this before I left, I’m just guessing I had a really good time. I mean, if you consider eating fabulously fresh food, drinking local wine, catching up with old friends and relaxing under the Mediterranean sun a good time (and I do!) .
What summer plans have you made? There’s still plenty of time to take a break, little or big. I’d love to hear what you have in store.
