Lisa Corrado
Nutritionist, chef, coach, career-changer, cancer survivor: all words that describe Lisa Corrado.
While living a full-time corporate life, Lisa decided to follow her passion out of the computer field and into food & nutrition. Weekends were spent first attending the University of Bridgeport (earning a Master of Science in Human Nutrition), then the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC (earning a diploma in Culinary Arts).
Lisa recently added a twist to her already unique background of nutritionist/ chef by becoming a cancer survivor.
All this combined makes Lisa uniquely qualified to address the nutritional needs of busy people.
Approach
Lisa’s approach marries clinical nutrition with culinary training. Clinical nutrition is the scientific part of the equation. When you eat, your body starts the process of nutrient utilization: digestion, absorption, transportation, metabolization, storage and elimination. We want each step in the process to work as well as possible so that you are as healthy as possible.
Culinary training is the fun (and delicious!) part of the equation. It's as important as the clinical nutrition part, because if you don’t like how it tastes, you won’t eat it. We focus on food: what to eat, how to shop for it, how to prepare it. Lisa creates an eating plan specific to you that addresses your goals and medical concerns, emphasizing foods you want to eat.
